Karnataka State Government Launches 25 Bio-Diesel Buses

Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has launched 25 bio-diesel buses in the state to reduce pollution caused by diesel buses. These eco-friendly buses will be present on four routes, including Tirupati and Chennai. Costing around ₹90 lakh each, bio-diesel buses eject 60-70% fewer ejections than diesel buses. These buses would save ₹80 lakh each year.

Wi_Fi Services are Provided For 100 Villages in Haryana State

The government of Haryana provided Wi_Fi services for 100 villages in the state. Haryana government also decided to rename all Common Service Centers (CSC), which were opened in urban and rural areas, and E-disha centers as ‘Atal Seva Kendras’ at district headquarters. This decision was declared by Haryana CM, Manohar Lal Khattar, during the launch of 53 new IT services regarding six departments on the occasion of ‘Good Governance Day. This day is celebrated annually to mark the birthday of the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Former Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickremanayake of Sri Lanka passes away

83 Years old Ratnasiri Wickremanayake, former Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, passed away on 27 December 2017 in Colombo. Wickremanayake served as a Prime Minister in Mahinda Rajapaksa Government in the year 2005. PM Wickremanayake earlier held the position of Prime Minister from August 2000 to December 2001, succeeding the then Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike.
