Karnataka State Government Launches 25 Bio-Diesel Buses

Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has launched 25 bio-diesel buses in the state to reduce pollution caused by diesel buses. These eco-friendly buses will be present on four routes, including Tirupati and Chennai. Costing around ₹90 lakh each, bio-diesel buses eject 60-70% fewer ejections than diesel buses. These buses would save ₹80 lakh each year.

This decision was declared by Haryana CM, Manohar Lal Khattar, during the launch of 53 new IT services regarding six departments on the occasion of ‘Good Governance Day. This day is celebrated annually to mark the birthday of the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

PM Wickremanayake earlier held the position of Prime Minister from August 2000 to December 2001, succeeding the then Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike.
