Electronics:

  • Knowledge/experience in embedded design of ARM based controllers/processors.
  • Should be able to develop, test and integrate systems.

Computer Science:

  • Knowledge/experience in Software Engineering & Software Life Cycle Processes is a must.

Pay or Salary: An all-inclusive consolidated remuneration of Rs. 18,000/- per month.

In the year 1961, HMT set up a watch manufacturing Unit at Bangalore in collaboration with M/s Citizen Watch Co., Japan. The first batch of Hand Wound Wrist Watches manufactured at this factory was released by the then Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru. The most popular mechanical hand wound watch is HMT Janata. There are also other mechanical watches like HMT Pilot, HMT Jhalak (Semi Skeletal), HMT Sona, HMT Braille.

In 1972, HMT expanded its watch manufacturing capacity with a set up alongside the Bangalore Factory to manufacture additional watches. In 1975, Watch factory at Bangalore was further expanded to manufacture Main Spring, Hair spring and Shock absorber components.

HMT set up additional manufacturing facilities to produce watch components sets at Tumkur and Ranibagh in the year 1978 and 1985 respectively. Watch factory at Tumkur was partially converted to manufacture Quartz Analog Watches in collaboration with M/S Citizen Watch Co, Japan. To cater to the Niche market, a specialized watch case manufacturing facility was set up at Bangalore in 1983.

About MRPL:

Before acquisition by ONGC in March 2003, MRPL, was a joint venture Oil Refinery promoted by M/s Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), a public sector company and M/s IRIL & associates (AV Birla Group). MRPL was set up in 1988 with the initial processing capacity of 3.0 Million Metric tonnes per annum that was later expanded to the present capacity of 15 Million Metric tonnes per annum. The Refinery was conceived to maximise middle distillates, with capability to process light to heavy and sour to sweet Crudes with 24 to 46 API gravity. On 28th March 2003, ONGC acquired the total shareholding of A.V. Birla Group and further infused equity capital of Rs.600 crores thus making MRPL a majority held subsidiary of ONGC. The lenders also agreed to the Debt Restructuring Package (DRP) proposed by ONGC, which included, interalia, conversion upto Rs 365 crore of their loans into equity. Subsequently, ONGC has acquired equity allotted to the lenders pursuant to DRP raising ONGC’s holding in MRPL to 71.62 percent.

The implementation of DRP in March 2003 within 4 weeks of acquiring equity in MRPL by ONGC has changed the credit profile of the company. ICRA has assigned A1+ rating (indicating highest safety) to the Short Term Borrowing programme of MRPL on a standalone basis

Educational Qualification:

Degree in Engineering in the respective discipline, Diploma in Commercial Practice.
Engineering graduates/Diploma holders who have passed the qualifying examination in the year 2013, 2014 and 2015 from Engineering colleges/Polytechnic of Karnataka only need to apply.
Candidates who have been engaged previously as apprentice/are undergoing apprenticeship training at MRPL or elsewhere under the Apprentices Act, 1961 are not eligible to apply.
Candidates who have got more than one year of work experience are not eligible to apply.
All the qualifications specified above should be recognized by Board of Technical Education /UGC/AICTE
Candidates belonging to General Category must have 65% aggregate in the qualifying examination (Engineering/Diploma), whereas candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC shall have 40% marks in aggregate. Wherever CGPA/OGPA or letter grade in a degree is awarded, its equivalent percentage of marks must be indicated in the application form as per the norm adopted by the University/Institute. The candidates have to submit a certificate indicating the method/formula used for conversion of letter grade/CGPA/OGPA to equivalent percentage.
Percentage of marks should be aggregate of all years/semesters i.e., total marks obtained over total maximum marks of all years/semesters without giving any weightage to any particular year/semester, irrespective of the method used by the University/Institution.

Pay or Salary:

Graduate Apprenticeship Training: Rs.4984/- per month(inclusive of all)
Technician Apprenticeship Training: Rs.3542/- per month(inclusive of all)

Selection Procedure:

The selection process shall consist of written test and interview followed by pre-employment medical fitness test. The candidates will have to qualify successfully through each stage of the selection process i.e. Written Test and Personal Interview. Also the candidates have to pass the pre-employment medical fitness test as per rules. The company shall not reimburse any expenses incurred by the candidate on account of travelling, boarding, lodging for attending written test and/or interview.
