About HAL:

The history and growth of the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited is synonymous with the growth of Aeronautical industry in India over the past 70 years.

The Company which had its origin as the Hindustan Aircraft Company was incorporated on 23 Dec 1940 at Bangalore by Shri Walchand Hirachand a farsighted visionary in association with the Government of Mysore with an Authorised Capital of Rs.4 crores (Paid up capital Rs.40 lakhs) and with the aim of manufacturing aircraft in India. In March 1941, the Government of India became one of the shareholders in the Company holding 1/3 of its paid-up capital and subsequently took over its management in 1942. In collaboration with the Inter Continental Aircraft Company of USA, Hindustan Aircraft Company commenced its business of manufacturing of Harlow Trainer, Curtiss Hawk Fighter and Vultee Bomber Aircraft.

In Dec 1945,the company was placed under the administrative control of Min. of Industry & Supply. In January 1951, Hindustan Aircraft Private Limited was placed under the Administrative control of Ministry of Defence.
The Company had built aircraft and engines of foreign design under licence, such as Prentice, Vampire and Gnat aircraft. It also undertook the design and development of aircraft indigenously. In August 1951, the HT-2 Trainer aircraft, designed and produced by the company under the able leadership of Dr. V.M.Ghatge flew for the first time. Nearly 200 Trainers were manufactured and supplied to the Indian Air Force and other customers. With the gradual building up of its design capability, the company successfully designed and developed four other aircraft i.e. two seater ‘Pushpak’ suitable for flying clubs, ‘Krishak’ for Air Observatory Post(AOP) role, HF-24 Jet Fighter ‘(Marut)’ and the HJT-16 Basic Jet Trainer ‘(Kiran)’.

Candidates applying for the post of Ex-Servicemen Technician for Engine Division should possess Diploma in Engineering/Technology and should have worked on Artouste or TM333 or Shakti Engines. The Diploma in Engineering / Technology Certificate should have been issued by the concerned Board of Technical Education/Institute, if the qualification was acquired before joining the Armed Forces. In case of the Diploma in Engineering / Technology in the relevant trade awarded by Indian Air Force/Indian Army/ Indian Navy, such Diploma should have been awarded after undergoing the prescribed training and passing the required examination specified by the Armed Forces wherein the candidates have undergone the training.

Candidates applying for the post of Ex-Servicemen Aircraft Technician for LCA Tejas Division in respect of Engine, Airframe, Armament, Radio, Radar, Instrumentation and Electrical trades should possess the Diploma in Engineering/Technology and should have worked on aircrafts such as Mirage, Jaguar, Su-30 and MiG series aircrafts. Age:

  • The upper age limit as on 01.10.2015 is 28 years.
  • The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years in respect of SC/ST and 3 years in respect of OBC (NCL) candidates. Candidates belonging to OBC category are required to produce recently obtained Non-creamy layer Certificate in proof of their Community (not older than 6 months) i.e 19.11.2015 stating that they do not come under the creamy layer from the Competent Authority, in the Central Govt. format at the time of Interview . Candidates belonging to the SC/ST category are also required to produce their community certificate in proof of their community at the time of Interview in the prescribed format. The format for OBC caste certificate in Annexure – A, SC/ST– Annexure – B and PWD–Annexure – C is attached.

Fee:

  • Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred Only) is to be paid as application fee. The application fee is non-refundable.
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD, those Ex-apprentices sponsored by HAL, TTI, Bangalore Complex and also those Candidates sponsored by Employment Exchange and Sainik Welfare Board are exempted from the payment of application fees.
  • The above Application fee is to be deposited in the name of “ HAL – RECRUITMENT ACCOUNT “ bearing account number 31700415045 at any core banking branches of State Bank of India only in the prescribed challan and the Journal number given by the bank on payment of fees needs to be entered in the online application form while applying. No other form of payment is accepted. Prescribed challan format is available under downloads in the online registration form.
  • Candidates are required to pay applicable amount towards Bank commission for depositing fee at other than SBI, HAL Branch , Bangalore.
  • Candidates are required to provide the details of the application fees paid in the online application form. Educational Qualification:

Regular/ Full Time ITI + NAC / ITI + NCTVT after 10th Standard in the Trades of Machinist/Turner/ Grinder/ Fitter/ Electroplating/ Electronics/ Instrumentation. All qualifications should be from Institute recognized by the appropriate Statutory Authorities in the Country.

For engagement, the candidate possessing higher technical qualifications than the required qualification indicated in the Advertisement/ Notification, need not apply. Candidates pursuing / enrolled for any other qualifications should mandatorily indicate the same in the application format. Candidature of such personnel who possesses higher qualification than the required qualification indicated in the Advertisement/ Notification will be rejected at any stage of the recruitment/ selection.

Pay or Salary:

The selected candidates would be paid Consolidated Remuneration of Rs. 24,583/- per month at the minimum level of induction. The consolidated remuneration would comprise of the following items :-

  • Basic Pay + Personal Pay
  • Dearness Allowance (revised quarterly) on the Basic Pay+ Personal Pay
  • House Rent Allowance as per classification of Cities (when Company quarter is not provided)
  • Special Allowance at the rate of 5% of Basic Pay + Personal Pay
  • Washing Allowance @ Rs. 75/- per month An annual increase of 3% during the tenure shall be admissible on the Basic Pay subject to satisfactory performance.
  • Provident Fund contribution will be calculated taking into account the Basic Pay + Personal Pay + Dearness Allowance components of the consolidated emoluments. The engaged personnel will be covered under the Income Tax, Service Tax, Professional Tax etc. as per the applicable rules and all such taxes would be payable by them.

Age:

Upper age limit as on 28/10/2015 will be for UR- 28 years; SC/ST- 33 years; OBC- 31 years. Candidates belonging to OBC – Non-creamy layer category are required to
submit OBC certificate not older than six months as on 28/10/2015, in the prescribed format at the time of Interview. The SC/ST category are also required to
produce the community certificate in proof of their community at the time of Interview in the prescribed format.

  • In respect of Persons with Disability (PWD), upper age limit is relaxable by 10 years which will be over & above the relaxation admissible for candidates belonging to SC/ST/ OBC as mentioned above.
  • Ex-Servicemen who has put in not less than six months continuous service in the Armed Forces of the Union, shall be allowed to deduct the period of such service from his actual age and if the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed for the post or service by more than 3 years, he will be deemed to satisfy the condition regarding the age limit.
  • The Upper age limit with all relaxations shall not exceed 55 years, as on 28/10/ 2015 except for candidates belonging to PWD Category. For PWD candidates the upper age limit with all relaxations should not exceed 56 years, as on 28/10/ 2015.
  • For candidates who has ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989, upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years.
  • Reservation of the posts will be as per rules.

Selection Procedure:

Eligible candidates who are sponsored by the Employment Exchange, Ex-Apprentices trained at TTI & TTC of Lucknow Division, candidates sponsored by the Sainik Boards and open candidates applying against Newspaper Advertisement will be called for Written Test, subject to their meeting the notified criteria. Division reserves the right to decide the cut off percentage for calling candidates for Written Test, based on the Marks secured in the Qualifying Examination prescribed for a particular Trade / Discipline, to ensure sufficient competition. However, the cut off percentage of Marks for UR / OBC candidates cannot be less than 60% and for SC/ ST/ PWD candidates not less than 50%, in the qualifying examination. Candidates who qualify in the Written Test will be shortlisted in the ratio of 1: 5 for Personal Interview on the basis of order of merit in the Written Test as per Rules of the Company. Final selection will be made on the basis of performance in the written test and
Interview together.

The candidates should bring all the relevant certificates/ testimonials etc. along with one set of Xerox copies in support of educational qualifications, experience, date of birth,, Caste certificates(in Central Govt. format) at the time of Interview. All the relevant and required documents as per the advertised criteria will be scrutinized before the Interview and those candidates who are found to be meeting the advertised criteria will only be allowed for the Interview.

Candidates attending Interview would be reimbursed Travelling Allowance(TA) i.e. Sleeper Class/ II Class Train fare/ Bus Fare by the shortest route, as per rules of the Company, subject to production of proof of travel (Original onward journey ticket and Photostat copy of return journey ticket), failing which TA will not be paid. Educational Qualification and Experience:

The Candidate should have 3 years of Post Professional Qualification Experience (PPQE). PPQE will be calculated from the date of acquiring Bachelor’s Degree or CA/ ICWA whichever is later.

Pay or Salary:  Rs.16400/- to Rs.40500/-

Payment of Application Fee:

Selection Procedure:

Selection process will comprise of an All – India based Online Selection Test and Interview. Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria & meet the nature of experience possessed will be called for the Online Test. Eligible candidates will be required to appear for an Objective Type Online Test at their own expense, on the date, time and venue, which will be mentioned in the Admit card.
